Silene Capensis (African dream root) is traditionally used to induce vivid & lucid dreams during the initiation process of shamans, classifying it a naturally occurring entheogenic similar to the more well-known dream herb Calea zacatechichi.
The seeds are easy to germinate and the plants easy to care for in a greenhouse or a warm country.
They are very fresh & gave a great germination rate in our greenhouse.

Indigenous to the green river valleys of the eastern cape province of South Africa, this obscure flowering species, Silene Capensis (African dream root), is regarded by Xhosa diviners as a sacred plant with the ability to induce remarkably vivid and prophetic dreams. Silene capensis is easily grow if given sunlight and watered frequently. S capensis is amoisture hungry herb but can be tolerant of extreme heat and moderate cold moisture retentive seedbed is essential. The flowers open at night and close in the day. It acts a biennial to short lived perennial and the root can be harvested after the second year. Germinating the seeds of Silene Capensis (African dream root) is easily done using moist tissue and a zip-lock bag. Place the seeds on the mois tissue and place into the bag. Seal it and keep it warm (about 24 degrees C) and within 3 weeks you should start to see tiny sprouts appearing!
